Archetype Archaeology
I've always been fascinated with signs and symbols and sense of mystery that they evoked. For a long time I was thinking about how are they made, and how come that few simple shapes can be perceived in a specific way or on the contrary evoke some obscure emotions. This became my main interest in my artistic explorations. Archetype Archaeology is in a way a manifesto of that interest and research on the topic.
Archetype Archaeology is a series of artworks and art manifesto, contained of 7 big scale paintings on textiles named "Maps" and five objects made out of sawn paper called "Shells". Alongside the artworks I wrote a thesis titled "Archetype in statu nascendi: Archetype in process of crystallization". The exhibition was part of my diploma and took place in Galeria Pionova in Gdańsk, then later (little simplified) went to Gallery Wieża Ciśnień in Kalisz. For the second presentation ambient music was composed by artist Lucas Froeliger.
